Editorial Policy
The Interdisciplinary Journal of Studium Generale (IJSG) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, ethical publishing practices, and scholarly rigor. Our editorial policy is guided by principles of fairness, transparency, and respect for intellectual property.
IJSG publishes research articles, case studies, literature reviews, work-in-progress articles, a book of abstracts, and conference proceedings emphasizing unique intellectual developments in interdisciplinary studies. The journal is published twice a year and continuously, meaning that when the article is accepted for publication, it is visible online.
In addition to its regular biannual issues, the IJSG plays a crucial role in documenting and disseminating scholarship presented at associated academic events.
Book of Abstracts: For specific conferences or symposia affiliated with IJSG, a Book of Abstracts will be published. This publication serves as a concise record of all accepted presentations (oral and poster) at the event. Each entry typically includes the title of the presentation, the authors' names and affiliations, and a brief summary (abstract) of the research or topic discussed. The Book of Abstracts is a valuable resource for conference attendees and provides a preliminary overview of the research presented.
Conference Proceedings: Selected full papers presented at affiliated conferences may be invited for inclusion in the IJSG Conference Proceedings. Unlike regular journal issues, which undergo a full double-blind peer-review process for every submission, papers for the proceedings are typically selected and reviewed by the conference scientific committee. These proceedings offer a comprehensive collection of scholarly work presented at a particular event, providing a permanent record of the conference's intellectual contributions. While they maintain high academic standards, their primary purpose is to capture the output of a specific event rather than to be part of the ongoing, continuous volume numbering of the main journal. Papers from the proceedings may be eligible for submission to regular IJSG issues for full peer review, provided they meet the journal's originality and scope criteria and represent a significant expansion or refinement of the work previously published in the proceedings.
Peer Review: All submissions to regular issues undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field(s) to ensure originality, methodological soundness, academic significance, and clarity of presentation. The review process aims to provide constructive feedback to authors, enhancing the quality of published articles.
Publication Frequency: IJSG is published biannually, with two regular issues per year. When it's needed, the journal will publish special issues.
Originality and Plagiarism: IJSG publishes only original research that has not been previously published nor is currently under consideration by another journal. All submissions will be screened for plagiarism using reputable software. Any instance of plagiarism will result in immediate rejection and potential sanctions.
Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant intellectual contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All authors must have approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission for publication.
Ethical Guidelines: Authors must adhere to the ethical research guidelines, including obtaining informed consent, ensuring data privacy, and ensuring animal welfare, where applicable. Any potential conflicts of interest must be declared.
Confidentiality: The peer review process is confidential. Reviewers and editorial staff must not disclose information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author and the Editor-in-Chief.
Open Access: IJSG is an open-access journal, meaning all published content is freely available online without charge to users or their institutions. This ensures the widest possible dissemination of research.
Copyright: Authors retain copyright of their published work and grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish.
Corrections and Retractions: In cases of errors or scientific misconduct, IJSG is committed to publishing corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies as warranted and by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
Editorial Decisions: Editorial decisions are final and based on the peer review reports, the scope of the journal, and the editor-in-chief's judgment.

After the editor receives the peer reviewers’ recommendations, they are forwarded to the author, who will perform the necessary revisions and submit a new draft within a time frame determined by the editor. The editor then reviews the final draft to determine whether the manuscript is ready for publication or if it requires further peer review. Once a manuscript is ready for publication, it is forwarded to the copy editor, who reviews the manuscript to ensure that the text adheres to IJSG's formatting and style guidelines. Once the copy editor’s work is done, the managing editor performs a final review of the manuscript and publishes it.
Authors who publish in the IJSG agree to the following terms:
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously, which allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work’s authorship and initial publication in this journal.
